Preloved celebrity style: Bella Hadid’s best vintage looks from Fashion Week 2022

Posted on

Bella Hadid - vintage enthusiast - blessed us with the best of her vintage looks and investment pieces at the SS/23 fashion weeks. From one fashion week to the next, poorly made fast fashion isn’t the solution for curating a sustainable and re-wearable wardrobe. How does Hadid re-use her wardrobe season after season? Aside from sticking to the classics, she opts for luxury collectors items - unique-to-her pieces - that aren’t just trend-lead. Most importantly, her luxury collectables are made with the utmost craftsmanship by heritage fashion brands. Crafted with quality materials, their durability ensures they can be recirculated to a new buyer after being worn time and time again: Proving that investing in pre-loved luxury is the fashion-way forward. Here are just a few of Hadid’s trophy fashion week looks to inspire your vintage style.

8/09/22: New York Fashion Week

Masha Popova’s denim on denim looks made a splash on the runway at London Fashion Week. With the revival of y2k fashion, it’s no surprise to have seen the likes of vintage denim trousers, skirts, tops and matching sets dominate the best street style and runway looks this year. At New York Fashion Week, Bella Hadid gave us the gold standard of denim looks with her vintage Junya Watanabe denim dress from 2002, that she bought just last year. In the spirit of conscious consumerism, Hadid reused the denim dress for the Bottega Veneta dinner at the Strand Bookstore in NYC.

9/09/22: New York Fashion Week

For a casual, street-wear look at New York fashion week, Bella Hadid styled her green embroidered trousers from the John-Galliano era of Dior. Paired with a yellow shoulder bag, white tee and green leather jacket; the model’s vintage look was everything we want in an effortlessly chic outfit.

Milan Fashion Week

On to Milan Fashion Week, Hadid brought her trophy collection of vintage investment handbags.

First, we saw Hadid sporting her Chanel On The Pavements Graffiti Messenger Bag from Spring/Summer 2015. An investment handbag staple from her collection, she also wore the bag to Fashion week just a couple months ago. It’s great to see Hadid setting the example that investment pieces are meant to be re-used and re-worn – If you find old items just sitting in your wardrobe, then this is your sign that selling your pre-loved designer clothes and bags is the way forward.

On the 23rd of September, Hadid stepped out onto the streets of Milan with her limited-edition Louis Vuitton X Richard Prince ombre monogram bag from Marc Jacobs' spring/summer 2008 collection. She paired the Louis Vuitton handbag with a khaki coat for the perfect vintage autumn look. A big hit with the Sign of the Time's team — We love seeing vintage designer handbags styled in synergy with current season, haute couture looks. Hadid succeeds, yet again, to pave the way for sustainable fashion into the limelight

30/09/22: Paris fashion Week

With another fashion week, comes yet another major vintage moment from Bella Hadid. For a model off-duty look at Paris fashion week, the model styled a Comme Des Garçons sweater from 2008. Paired with black Nike Air Force trainers, a black leather midi skirt and the infamous Le Cagole bag from Balenciaga; Hadid has proven yet again that vintage clothing can look up to date.

This month, we saw fashion's favourite model re-style her vintage designer wardrobe staples, reminding us all that it is absolutely normal, if not necessary, to shamelessly re-wear the same clothes! Then, to close French label Coperni's Spring/Summer 23 show, we saw Hadid walk the runway in a patented dress spray painted in front of the live audience. A true celebration of innovation in technology and fashion design, Hadid was the perfect fit to showcase and captivate the power of Fabrican's spray-on fabric technology. If anything, the 2022 fashion weeks have left us confident that Hadid will continue to push the boundaries of haute-couture as we know it and be a force for positive change within the sustainable fashion space in years to come. In the mean time, let her serve as your vintage and preloved designer style inspiration. Remember, old is the new new.
