Dover Street Market A/W 2020 trends

Posted on

Dover Street Market is a retailer selling many high fashion brands, originally located on Dover Street in Mayfair, and now found on Haymarket Street. DSM was created by Rei Kawakubo of Comme des Garçons and her husband Adrian Joffe with a very unorthodox aesthetic in comparison to most high-end department stores being described as "beautiful chaos" by Kawakubo.

Currently, at Dover Street Market throughout the different designers, we are seeing a move towards the heavy use of organza and netting. This was particularly notable from Simone Rocha, Noir Kei Ninomiya and Molly Goddard.

Another notable trend at Dover Street was the prolific use of leather and latex alluding to an edgier and slightly provocative vibe. This was seen amongst Junya Watanabe's collection at DSM.

Squared toe shoes have been a favourite of many of the houses for the last couple of seasons and it looks like they are here to stay. Maison Margiela continues to support this trend with their tabi line however the look was also prevalent amongst other designers such as Jill Sander and Bottega Veneta.
